Monica Rambeau just had a pretty special moment in the latest episode of “WandaVision.” Teyonah Parris’ character has been a key part of the show so far, but she now looks to be an integral part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward following episode seven’s reveal.

Warning: Spoilers. Fans have been speculating for a while now that Monica Rambeau could gain superpowers as a result of going in and out of Wanda’s Westview, which is encircled by energy boundaries. In the comics, Rambeau is also known as superhero Photon/Pulsar, and, more recently, Spectrum. She gained her powers after being hit by extradimensional energy and is known as the second Captain Marvel.

Up until episode seven, Rambeau was a captain for S.W.O.R.D. trying to help Agent Jimmy Woo ( Randall Park ) and S.W.O.R.D. acting director Tyler Hayward (Josh Stamberg) figure out what was going on with Westview. Now, however, Rambeau looks to have had her origin story as Photon.

They were so strong that Rambeau couldn’t get through with a heavily-armored space vehicle. Instead, she walked through by herself in a trippy sequence where we heard the voices of several key characters including a young Monica, her mother Maria, Nick Fury, and Captain Marvel herself, Carol Danvers.

The voices also spoke about Monica’s mother Maria, and included dialogue from “Captain Marvel” as Monica forced her way through the energy barrier.
The last line in the sequence came from Danvers: “Your mum’s lucky.

Monica Rambeau is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, Created by writer Roger Stern and artist John Romita Jr., the character debuted in The Amazing Spider-Man Annual #16 (October 1982). Superhuman speed (by traveling as microwave transmissions), invisibility, the ability to fly and phase through objects, and the ability to absorb energy and redirect it as blasts from her hands. She also had a pretty cool white costume. WandaVision won’t be the last we see of Monica.

Is Monica a mutant WandaVision?

Monica Rambeau’s role in the MCU is unclear right now. She spends most of the episode in detective mode — working with Kat Dennings’ Dr. Darcy Lewis and Randall Park’s Jimmy Woo to figure out the truth of what’s going on in the New Jersey town. And for all intents and purposes, Monica seems perfectly fine throughout the episode and relatively unchanged by her time under Wanda’s apparent control.

However, a hint early on in the episode suggests Monica may not be the same as she was before she was sucked into Westview. The moment in question comes around nine minutes into WandaVision Episode 5, when a S.W.O.R.D. medic requests another round of scans and health labs from Monica because her previous ones are blank.

Monica refuses to give another blood draw, or waste any more time lying in a hospital bed, and the moment is quickly passed over.

But WandaVision Episode 5 never goes back and explains what was wrong with Monica’s initial labs.
That has led Marvel fans to speculate her body may have been altered by her time in Westview, and that she may even have superpowers now.

A Vision of the Future — Monica has a long and varied history in the Marvel comics. A prominent superhero, she got her powers after being exposed to high levels of extra-dimensional energy, and ever since, has been able to manipulate and wield high quantities of electromagnetic energy.

She’s assumed multiple different aliases over the years, including Photon, Pulsar, and even took on the Captain Marvel mantle at one point, though, she currently goes by Spectrum in the comics.
Given that Monica’s comic book superpowers are energy-based, it’d make sense if her time in Westview in some way resulted in her getting her powers.

WandaVision has already established that the forcefield surrounding Westview is giving off huge levels of cosmic radiation, so it wouldn’t take very much explanation if Monica were to get her powers from it either. It is also possible — as some fans have theorized — that her exposure to Wanda and the forcefield didn’t give Monica her powers, so much as awaken them.

Evan Peters in WandaVision, Marvel Studios Is Monica a Mutant? — Marvel fans have been theorizing for months that WandaVision will, in some way, play a role in introducing mutants to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Those theories have only strengthened/been validated this past week, following WandaVision Episode 5’s inclusion of Evan Peters’ Quicksilver from the Fox X-Men movies.

Some fans theorize Wanda won’t just bring Mutants from other alternate realities into the MCU, they also think Wanda will have a hand in creating the MCU’s Mutants. That has led some fans to speculate that Monica herself may be a mutant in the MCU. Assuming that’s correct, then the reason her labs are blank in WandaVision Episode 5 wouldn’t just be because she has powers now, but also because her mutant genetics have been awakened.

Monica’s not a mutant in the comics, but that may not matter much.
Marvel Studios has always been willing to alter characters’ origins for the MCU, so it’s entirely possible that Parris’ Monica could be a mutant, unlike her comic book counterpart.

Marvel Studios The Inverse Analysis — WandaVision has yet to really reveal what the long-term effects of the “Westview Anomaly” will be for those who spend time inside of it.

But thanks to that small scene with the S.W.O.R.D. medic in WandaVision Episode 5, it’s clear that Monica has, in some way, been physically affected by her exposure to the town’s energy. Whether or not that means she’s a mutant or has superpowers now — as many fans have theorized — is a mystery for the time being.

What happens to Monica at the end of WandaVision?

Director Hayward, frustrated that his plans to resurrect Vision and turn him into a weapon have gone sideways, opens fire on Billy and Tommy.
To reiterate, Hayward, a grown man, tries to murder two 10-year-olds.
Monica sees this, wants to save them, and ends up taking the bullets (because Hayward fired a gun at two children, more than once!) for them.

Her body flashes a bright yellow, seemingly turning into living energy, and as the bullets pass through her, they fall to the ground. Monica’s powers aren’t really explained. Darcy, who probably would be really great at telling us what’s going on, is barely in the episode.

But the comic books can give us some clues.

After absorbing this energy into her body, Monica has the power to transform herself into various energy forms.
These forms allow her to shoot energy bolts, and they also allow her to zip along at the speed of light.

Monica Rambeau’s creator, Roger Stern, gradually gave prominence to the character in his long-term run in the Avengers series, ultimately making her the leader of the team. Wanda had to destroy Westview as she had held thousands of people hostage, and they were undergoing mental torture due to being forced to play sitcom characters and populate the town.

But destroying Westview meant that she also had to let go of her sons and Vision, as their existence was tied to the world.
In the penultimate episode, Agatha had called Wanda the Scarlet Witch, a being who is destined to destroy the earth and who was considered a myth.
While Wanda initially denied this, she embraced the role before the end.

Agatha, before Wanda turned her into her character of nosy neighbour, warned that Wanda has done a very dangerous thing and warned of dire consequences. She also said that Scarlet Witch was mentioned in Darkhold, the Book of the Damned, the most dangerous text related to magic in Marvel Comics.

This means that she is likely the most powerful person on the planet.
Agatha claimed she was stronger than even Doctor Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme, who is considered to be the greatest practitioner of magic on earth.

Wanda’s new role may also create new problems. One of these could be a rift in the fabric of reality — opening of the multiverse in other words. That Wanda is still not completely a force for good is clear. She is a good person, but she is still to come to terms with her grief.

Wandavision Monica Rambeau Powers Explained – More Powerful Than Captain Marvel

It is premature to assume that just because she let Vision and her sons go, she is now a-okay. We saw in the end-credits that while Wanda is just making tea, Scarlet Witch, which is probably Wanda’s astral form, is perusing the Book of the Damned. Her purpose is to bring back her children and Vision, and indeed we hear the cry of the twins, indicating that they are alive somewhere, in some other universe or dimension.

It’s already been confirmed that Monica will be reunited with Carol Danvers in the upcoming “Captain Marvel 2,” so it’s only a matter of time before we learn more about this meeting and the newly-superpowered Monica’s future. Why Did Monica (Marvel Studios) Post-credits scene: Wanda the Scarlet Witch After taking down the Hex and saying goodbyes to Vision and their twins, Wanda has settled in a secluded cabin in the mountains. But once again, not everything is as it seems. Earlier in the episode, Agatha tells Wanda “there’s an entire chapter devoted to in the Darkhold” and that her “power exceeds that of the Sorcerer Supreme.” Now Wanda, who’s set on understanding her power, has taken possession of “the book of the damned” to do some homework.

In the comics, the Darkhold is an old book of powerful dark magic generally associated with Chthon, an old god who is also known for being the source of Chaos Magic. The book has previously appeared in Marvel TV shows including “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and “Runaways.” And it appears Wanda’s studies are paying off, because there are two of her in the cabin.

In the post-credits scene, one Wanda, in full Scarlet Witch regalia, is shown reading the Darkhold (while flexing some magical might) when she hears the voices of her twin sons call out to her for help. Billy and Tommy were last seen in the episode getting tucked in by Wanda and Vision before the alternate reality within Westview was dissolved away for good. drive a very large truck into the Hex. When the Hex quite literally spits out the vehicle, Rambeau figures it easier to just get out and waltz right in. But it’s not that easy. As she forces her way in, we see her body split and glow, with something clearly happening to her.

Let’s get you up to speed on what the comics say are in store for Rambeau’s future.
First of all, remember that Kevin Feige that this is the same Monica Rambeau we met in Captain Marvel as a bright-eyed child.

In the comics, though, she grows up to have superpowers of her own, fighting alongside Carol Danvers as a hero named Photon. As with every other Marvel hero nowadays, her main powers include shooting energy out of her hands. While in the comics, it’s an extra-dimensional weapon that gives Rambeau her powers, it looks like the MCU had slightly different plans.

Wanda is trained with the use of her powers — Monica would still find her own newly acquired abilities unfamiliar and possibly unwieldy. On the basis of speed, Monica is more likely to get in a deciding blow faster, but with a twin brother with super-speed, Wanda is accustomed to dealing with speedsters.
