Silco has taken control of the undercity, now called Zaun, and Jinx helps to smuggle the chemical stimulant “Shimmer” into Piltover for Silco’s second revolt.

After a job goes awry due to the interference of insurgents known as the Firelights, Jinx attempts to impress Silco by stealing an arcane “Hextech” gemstone from Jayce, killing six enforcers in the process. Silco asks Jinx to weaponize the gemstone and advises her to let go of her past trauma, while rookie enforcer Caitlyn Kiramman recruits Vi, who has been imprisoned for years, to help track Jinx down.

As Jinx turns on Vi upon realizing that she is working with Caitlyn, the Firelights intervene and take the gemstone. Jinx kills the enforcers on the bridge connecting Zaun to Piltover and recovers the gemstone, though she is grievously wounded during an encounter with Ekko, the Firelights’ leader and her childhood friend.

Silco finds Jinx and brings her to Singed, a scientist who injects her with Shimmer to heal her injuries. Jinx hallucinates Vi and Caitlyn inflicting her pain so she kidnaps them both. She abducts Silco as well upon overhearing him lament choosing between Zaun’s independence and her as part of an ultimatum offered to him by Jayce.

Jinx forces Vi to choose between Caitlyn and herself. Both Vi and Silco appeal to Jinx, causing her to suffer a panic attack, Silco breaks free and almost shoots Vi before Jinx, in a manic fit, guns him down. In his final moments, Silco reaffirms he never would have betrayed Jinx and comforts her by telling her that she is “perfect”.

Jinx finally accepts her new identity and, having weaponized the gemstone to power a rocket launcher, fires at the Piltover council just as they approve to grant Zaun its independence.

What made Jinx crazy?

When Jinx was young, she was sweet and caring. Unfortunately, she accidentally killed her family. Swain’s rework brings many special interactions. Here’s an interpretation of his mysterious quote to Jinx.

Faces. Fading in the flames. It was all her fault. At first glance it seems like there’s nothing special about this quote; I mean it’s JINX, she kills and stuff for fun, but I think it may go further. In Jinx’s lore, it says no one really knows where she came from.

The older people of Zaunite remember a girl fitting her description, but she wasn’t crazy like Jinx.
Quote: “This girl was sweet and innocent, a tinkerer with big ideas, who never quite fit in and came to a bad end.
I’m confident that this little girl was Jinx, and that one of her “big ideas” accidentally started a huge explosion that killed her parents and many other people, which is why Swain says to her, “Faces.

Fading in the flames. It was all her fault.” Swain stole her memories and KNOWS she felt remorse that day for killing her parents.

This ultimately made Jinx insane and enabled her chaotic nature.
There are a lot more clues that indicate Jinx accidentally started a fire in Vi’s lore (and I’m sure we all agree by now that Jinx and Vi are sisters).

Vi remembers little of her childhood, and what she does remember, she wishes she didn’t. None of the old timers from Vi’s youth could tell her anything of her parents, with most assuming they had simply died in one of the industrial accidents. In the end, Vi gave up on any notions of learning anything about her parents, figuring some things were better left unknown.

Jinx killed their parents.
Jinx also knows Vi is her sister (but Vi doesn’t know about Jinx).
In Jinx’s lore she only targets Vi in all her recent crimes.
Perhaps it’s because she feels guilty and this is either 1) A psychotic way of apologizing 2) She wants Vi to kill her because she’s so guilty of killing their parents.

There is one small problem with this theory though based on Vi’s lore. It says, On his deathbed, a notoriously mad sump-scrapper claimed to have found Vi adrift in a bassinet large enough for two in the ruins of a collapsed chem-laboratory. This implies that he found Vi as a baby, which may mean Jinx was a baby at that time too since the bassinet had room for one more baby.

I don’t think this is too damning though.
For one, it says the guy was notoriously mad.
I believe he did find Vi in a collapsed laboratory (where jinx started the fire), but the details he remembers are hazy.
It’s also possible that Jinx is the older sister and was old enough to tinker around with gadgets, thus starting the fire.

She might have even saved Vi during the fire. Edit 1 – Madnessfuel (comment is somewhere below) informed me that a Rioter did confirm a long time ago that Jinx is the older sister. Edit 2 Also HandsomeTaco’s comment below regarding Warwick gives more evidence to the theory! Edit 3 (Kind of long.

There are a few people who are totally against the idea of Vi and Jinx being sisters, even though it’s been heavily implied for the past 4 years.
To be fair, Riot has never 100% confirmed they are sisters, but a Riot employee said they were siblings in an interview.

He later said Riot has never confirmed if they were sisters, so he could be wrong. What confuses is me how people could think they’re NOT sisters. There’s a million hints that they are sisters, but there’s not a single hint that they are NOT sisters. Here’s what one Rioter said when Jinx first came out: Vi and Jinx don’t behave like siblings at all! I mean, they’re always bickering and making fun of each other, and that’s not very sisterly, right? Actually, wait a minute Perhaps this topic DOES merit some further consideration.

So here’s what we know: Vi claims in Jinx’s teaser that she has no idea who Jinx is or where she came from. So if these two are related, Vi clearly hasn’t gotten the memo yet. Which is interesting, and there’s also the fact that we don’t know a whole lot about Vi’s past as a street urchin. So who knows? Seems like there are a lot of interesting story paths this rivalry could go down.

I can’t wait to see how it will play out! -Ok so if we go with the theory, it makes sense why Vi doesn’t know Jinx. -Seriously, why would Riot post stuff like this without some sort of meaning behind it? -Shopkeeper in Howling Abyss says to Vi, “You look so much like your sister.

Oh wait I’m not supposed to talk to you about that.” Not only does this add more fuel to the theory since the shopkeeper doesn’t want to talk about the horrible accident, but also why would he mention her sister? Jinx has a line “You think I’m crazy? You should see my sister.” Again, why would Riot put lines like this in the game without any meaning at all? Why does Jinx only target Vi in her lore? I genuinely don’t understand people could say “no they’re definitely not sisters.” I feel like if you say that you’re purposefully ignoring the clues.

Criminally insane, Jinx has a love for wanton chaos, destruction, and anarchy, and gets easily bored if these reckless urges are left unsatisfied for too long. Jinx isn’t shown to think much about the consequences of her behavior and generally acts before thinking, which can lead to people getting hurt easily when around Jinx.

While she is clearly a gifted inventor, Jinx is also extremely scatterbrained, forgetting scientific terms and instead imitating gun noises while she constructs her weapons.
Jinx is often portrayed to be hyperactive and very childish, complaining when she doesn’t get what she wants and calling others by immature names, giving Vi nicknames such as “Fat-Hands” and “Stupid”.

With her carefree, self-centered attitude, Jinx doesn’t care about money, order, or what others think about her and just destroys what she wants when she wants. Despite this, she still likes to get recognition for her many crimes and is capable of showing off to the Piltover police, knowing that no matter what goes down, she will always get away.

Despite her immature and silly demeanor, Jinx is still a significant force of evil and malice, even if in her crazed mind she sees it as a game.
She murders indiscriminately and without a second’s hesitation, causes mass destruction regularly, and if her dreams are anything to go by, also harbors a desire for the complete destruction of everyone and everything.

Jinx has killed countless people, either directly murdering them herself or indirectly as collateral from all the chaos and havoc she causes. She is also possibly directly responsible for the failing of peaceful relations between Piltover and Zaun, having singlehandedly exterminated the Piltover Council.

The only person Jinx has shown any kind of friendship towards is Ziggs, and even then this is because she believes the Yordle is merely a fragment of her imagination.
Jinx is also a sadist to the point where chaos and destruction arouse her.
After a night of mayhem with Ziggs, she turned to look at him and asked him “Was it good for you?”, showing rather explicit implications.

Jinx is also completely incapable of holding onto any feelings of remorse or guilt; Even when she does sometimes feel it, in her own words the longest she’s ever felt such things is “8 seconds”. In the past, Jinx used to have a good relationship with her sister Vi, but they had conflicts that turned violent.

But, it’s at this moment that Jinx realizes they will never be the same again. She captured Vi because she wanted to give her the choice – kill Caitlyn, the Enforcer and the enemy, for her to get Powder back, or she would never be in Vi’s life again. She has an internal battle with a machine gun in her hands that makes her experience a breakdown, shooting everything in sight – with most of those bullets ending up in Silco.

And just as he’s dying, he reassures her of his love for her, despite his betrayal about the truth of Vi’s abandonment, saying he would always love her and never give her up. That, right there, is the final nail in the coffin. You can still see she had affection for her sister and loves her, but after Silco’s death and him calling her “perfect,” she knows that Vi will never accept her for who she is now, and that she’ll never love her like she used to, so she gives into becoming Jinx, fully.

No more Powder. She’s fully a villain. It’s heartbreaking and realistic in so many ways and that’s what makes her the perfect villain on TV right now. She isn’t spawned into becoming a villain through a blind need for revenge or any other reason – she becomes Jinx because she realizes there’s no one left in the world who will love her for how different she is, so why not give in? Despite her affections for her sister, there’s no point in holding onto them anymore, as Vi doesn’t see Powder.

She sees a maniac.
Jinx can’t handle that, so instead, she’ll push her away from now on, becoming the person Silco always wanted her to be.
While Jinx is a villain for now, I wonder what Season 2 of Arcane will bring.
Until then, I can say she is expertly written and I’ll love every step of her journey and watch more shows like Arcane to be reminded of her.

In addition to the new particles, there are also new animations included with the skin. The most obvious one is the new recall animation in which Jinx fights off zombies before finally teleporting back. Others include her switcharoo ability and her Super Mega Death Rocket ultimate. To make the skin even more awesome, Riot have included several new sound effects for her abilities.

With the Slayer Jinx skin, her Switcheroo, Zap and recall animation all have new sound effects to match the theme. The skin is currently no longer available in the store and is the only legacy skin so far for Jinx. Featuring a brilliant story from writers Christian Linkle and Alex Lee, Arcane has proven to be a stunning piece of animation that transcends its connection to League in favor of being a masterful narrative in its own right.

Piltover’s notable inhabitants include Jayce, an ambitious scientist who dreams of recreating magic, and Caityln, a low-ranking police officer pigeon-held by the corruption within her profession.
Through these characters the audience gets to see how Piltover’s twisted politics and deeply rooted classism compromise both their government and morals.

Zaunites find themselves stricken with poverty and resent Piltover for denying their land its independence. Two such citizens include orphan sisters Vi and Powder, starting the show as fledgling thieves united by their strong sororal bond. However, both sisters find themselves on vastly different paths as tensions brew between Zaun and Piltover.

Linkle and Yee have a gift for characterization, reinterpreting the elementary champions of League as multifaceted human beings. Vi and Jinx are wonderful characters, with the latter proving to be one of the most complex television creations in recent years. Jinx is guilty of several heinous crimes by the end of this season, yet she remains sympathetic thanks to her well-established motivations.

Instead, Arcane employs breathtakingly inventive animation to demonstrate how such psychological trauma has influenced her view of the world around her.
Jinx is characterized by her inability to process the sins of the past, an issue exacerbated by her desperate need for a loved one’s approval.
Arcane’s animation reflects her internal conflict beautifully, utilizing masterful visual storytelling to illustrate the nature of Jinx’s psyche.

Animation glitches occur frequently whenever Jinx is on screen, with crudely drawn faces scribbled onto the sources of her insecurities.
These uncanny visuals become more overwhelming as Jinx’s mental health deteriorates, eventually giving way to voices and guilt ridden hallucinations.
